Domaine de La Laigne

France

semi-overcast

Some of you I already told that it is possible that I am going to France to live and work.
Still it is not sure for 100%, so I signed my contract with Vacansoleil to go back to Italy, but hopefully around the first of February I will know for sure whether it is going to be France or Italy for the near future.

Last weekend we (Ineke and I) have been with Marius (the new owner we hope) to France, St. Jean d'Angely (close to Rochefort) in the Charente-Maritime district where we had a first few of the Domaine.

At the moment the Domaine consists of a Main House, 13 cottages, a swimmingpool, a sportfield.

The project is that on the field on the other side of the road there will come 10 Safari-tents (each with it's own toilet and shower) and a Paviljon with a reception, a small shop, pool bar and a natural swimming lake.
On the ground flour of the Main House there will be a kitchen with a hughe terrace at the front of the house for Table d'Hôtes, long tables where the guests can join for diner with the host/owner (Marius).

It is a big challenge and adventure to be asked to come and set this project up. Ineke will take care of the kitchen, I will mostly take care off the bookings, the reception, the side of the tents, etc.

I will keep you posted about the plans.

I am using this blog now, because this is an easy way to upload the pictures.

Further news is that I am going to Nepal!!
I have been so lucky that Voula, an American friend who I met in Elounda (Crete) is going to Nepal for two weeks with her daughters. She insisted on my presence there and she bought me the ticket to join them!!!!
Of course it will be totally different then the other times I have been to Nepal, but it will be great to show Voula 'my'Nepal and to see the children again.
I am going from the 19th of February until the 5th of March and while I am there I will of course update you as well.
